I downloaded giflib-3.1pre1.tar.gz and giflib-3.1-pre1.patch from the XEmacs ftp site - are these the right versions? I haven't been able to get these to build - I get a raft of errors (see below). It builds a library anyway, but it does not work - XEmacs doesn't like it, detection of libgif fails.
