[comp.emacs.xemacs] problems with editing remote files

Any ideas about this one?

I would suggest running

xemacs -no-init-file -no-site-file

and testing a well-known efs path, like
/ftp＠ftp.xemacs.org:/pub/xemacs/beta/

Ron, which ftp exectutable are you using in XEmacs (which ftp)?

I found that I cannot use cygwin ftp in my native Windows XEmacs.

What else has changed in your environment (at work and at home) since
your ftp access worked last?
