ok, i looked at the source and it looks like it should be easy to port by using
the gutters.
you can insert any sorts of glyphs or strings you want into the gutter, and
that's all that the "header line" really does, it appears. glyphs can
handle
keymaps.
are you interested in helping to port it? if you do, i'll see about putting it
into the distribution.

all right, but let me rephrase what i was trying to tell...
1) at least epidermically, tabbar looks better and better conceived
than xemacs' buffer tabs,
2) then, maybe some ideas are worth stoling, if stoling code is
impossible...
