Yes, indeed this seems to be a 21.4.9 (maybe Windows [2]) bug, I am
aware of two similar bug reports, both of which have been sent by a
Windows XEmacs user (as is this one too). I cannot reproduce any of
these using 21.4.9 on Linux.

This is what I get too, and AFAICT, it's correct.
Andy, could this be related to your syntax stuff changes between 21.4.9
[1] and [2] on Windows?
