[Bug: 21.5-b18] xemacs hangs (100% CPU) when fullscreen with icewm window manager

Dear Bug Team! This bug concerns the interaction between xemacs and the icewm window manager. There may be a bug in icewm but I think there is one in xemacs too, since it is never correct to hang and chew 100% CPU. Normally xemacs works okay under icewm. The window can be moved, resized and get or lose focus. When the xemacs window is resized with the window manager, xemacs resizes its frame accordingly. But icewm also has a way to put a single window in fullscreen mode so it covers the whole display. That works fine for most applications (eg xterm, firefox) but when I try it for xemacs-21.5.18 the window doesn't appear to resize. Instead I see a small xemacs frame in the top left of the display and black space to the right and below. icewm draws the black space itself so I think the xemacs X window is only taking part of the display and not the full screen. Moreover xemacs is then unresponsive to keypresses or mouse clicks; top shows it is using 100% CPU. If I switch away from the fullscreen window and back again, xemacs doesn't repaint. Sometimes switching back from fullscreen mode gets things back to normal; sometimes even after switching back xemacs won't respond to keypresses (though it stops chewing CPU). Interestingly, xemacs did seem to get a message from the window manager about focus. Normally the xemacs cursor (showing point) is a solid square but when the xemacs window doesn't have focus it becomes a hollow square. When I click on icewm's window menu, xemacs loses focus and changes its cursor to a hollow square. Then when I choose fullscreen from that menu the xemacs window moves to the top right of the screen (with blackness around it as mentioned above) and its cursor is a solid square again. But it won't do anything more. I am using Fedora Core 3. With FC2 I didn't see this problem with fullscreen mode so perhaps it could even be a bug in some other package like the X libraries.
