The GTK port would probably work. I've been meaning to try it, but have
been in permanent fire-drill mode at work for quite a while. :( I talked
with ben a 2 months ago or so about reworking a lot of the display code so
that X & GTK would be shared (and we could theoretically move windows to
common code as well), but I haven't gotten a response in a while and
haven't had a lot of time to play with it lately.

 *sigh*

I really think that the current GTK code should be largely scrapped and a
GTK2 (possibly Qt) port done and used as a testbed for factoring out large
chunks of duplicated code in the Gtk/X/Qt ports. If anybody wants to work
on this please let me know.

I was originally planning on being on vacation all of june, but have scaled
that back to try and sell the house. So I have a week at the end of june
that I could dedicate to the gtk2 port.

I apologize to everyone for being so spotty in responding to emails about
emacs/w3 or xemacs for the last 6 months. :(

I never worked on GTK, but did work a bit on XEmacs.
I am on business trip / vacation this month, so let's get in touch in
June.
