But why after applying your setting and not before?
Don't know. It's an interaction between x-symbol itself and the other
code you're using, and it's pretty complicated to figure out what
specifiers are going to do in this kind of situation.
I am very surprised that 'remove-all doesn't change things, though.
BTW, I'm probably not going to have time to look at this again
until July, unfortunately.
