Yes, I thought the extension extdiff required an external diff program
but I guess just activating the extension as you show is enough. I'll
try that.

I think so but I'll test your settings first. It has been a while
since I set up patcher so I don't remember the details.

Yes. If it is just a patch that I want to put on display I would like
to be able to do that from any workarea. If it is a patch I want to
push I guess using a clone with a fixed name is OK. (This is of course
rather theoretical since I don't regularly push things but I think it
could be useful ;-)
