This seems rather difficult, since "what is nice" and "what is
available" are user and system-dependent. We have a way to
characterize availability of color, but to do font choice at all well
we need an external database of "common" and "desirable" fonts.
Yes, fonts are non trivial.
Putting it into sample.init.el would be a good idea, though (how about
a patch?)
