No. It doesn't hurt, and assures that the other directories (other
than src) get properly built.
Note that purify is a link-time operation. Although you can
compile (not link) using "purify cc" instead of "cc", there really
aren't any differences between the two, aside from "purify cc" defining
additional purify definitions.
It's running v e r y s l o w l y. At this rate, I should know
why it
crashes by January :-)
Oh, yes. ;-) You should be seeing a factor of 4-10 slowdown.
However, on any system less than two or so years old, it should still be
quite usable.
Purify has already reported a number of UMRs, I have a very large
text
file output that I could mail separately to anyone who wants it (it's
a bit big for the list).
Be careful, if the UMRs are in X11/Motif. Stock X11 has (or used
to have, at least) lots of UMRs, most of which are out of our control
(and many of which don't really seem to hurt). The same is true of
Motif.
Please send me a copy of the report. I'll take a look at it.
