Meaning that the spaces in paths can cause problems. Additionally,
since you're using Windows 2000, maybe you shouldn't use autoexec.bat at

Environment variables should not be quoted. It probably would be better
to set HOME in the Control Panel instead of autoexec.bat, but I very
much doubt that's the problem here.
