I was able to read Markus's file fine in 21.4.8, I won't be able to thoroughly check (I'll have to rebuild) until Monday at least. Maybe you stripped the binary? In any case, unless I can replicate, I'll need a backtrace with full debug information. I would be very grateful if you would do this before you upgrade to 21.4.9, in case it's a Heisenbug.
