Dear Bug Team!
I'm seeing curious behavior when trying to rebind mouse keys. Here's
an example: I execute:
(global-unset-key 'button3)
(global-set-key 'button3 'mouse-track-adjust)
[I execute them by typing them into the *scratch* buffer, selecting
them with the mouse, and choosing "Evaluate region or defun" from the
"Lisp" menu.)
I do C-h k and click the right mouse button, and it reports that
mouse-track-adjust is bound to button3. *However*: clicking button3
seems to have no effect at all. mouse-track-adjust does work as
expected on shift button1 -- it came pre-bound there on my intallation
I also tried the above with button3 replaced by (shift
button2). Again, when queried, it reports that the binding is as
expected. But, this time, clicking the middle mouse button with the
shift held down seems to produce the same effect as clicking it
without the shift held down, i.e., the last kill gets pasted. If I
then do (global-unset-key '(shift button2)), the pasting no longer
happens.
