Try --with-system-malloc. Our mmap code is said (by an expert) to be
broken (but his explanation doesn't make sense, because it is based on
the assumption that our tagbits are the same as GNU Emacs, and they're
not). This effectively disables it. There's a patch in 21.4 which
really disables it.

If you're not using current CVS, you probably don't have the patch I
described in my previous message. Unless you're running Debian `sid',
simply updating to CVS current should also get you a build, with NAS
1.6 supported.
