What does M-x mean anyways?
It stands for "eXtended". As the tutorial explains:

sve kontrolne i meta znakove. Emacs ovo zaobilazi proširenim
(eXtended) naredbama. One dolaze u dva oblika:
C-x Proširi znak. Praćena jednim znakom.
M-x Proširena naredba s imenom. Praćena dugim imenom.
