OK Steve T, I have tested the following:
XEmacs 21.4.6 (Mule) pre-patch php-mode.el byte-compiles fine
XEmacs 21.4.6 (non-Mule) it bombs
XEmacs 21.5-b3 (Mule) fine
XEmacs 21.5-b3 (non_Mule) it bombs
BTW, running four different versions of XEmacs simultaneously is fun,
but it gets confusing... took me a while to find the one that was
running Gnus. :-)
Do you want me to go for six and test 21.1 (Mule and non-Mule)?
