Known bug, not yet known whether it's with XEmacs or with Metacity.
XEmacs is an Xt app, and doesn't know about newfangled interclient
protocols from more "modern" toolkits.
If you use a GTK + GNOME build of XEmacs, the problem goes away.
Don't know if a GTK build without GNOME is sufficient.
