Eicq isn't in the SUMO because it relies on an external C program.
The SUMO tarballs are "pre-compiled" binary packages which get built
on my system (GNU/Linux) so anybody not using the same setup as myself
wouldn't be able to use Eicq.[1]
JDE isn't included in the SUMO because it has one or two files where
the filename is too long. This is only a problem for people on
Solaris who don't have GNU/tar.
My recommendation for your CD would be:
- Include JDE (if you package it in a "SUMO" build it with your own
tar)
- Don't include Eicq. The version in XEmacs CVS is a couple of
versions behind and I don't think it will build for Solaris.
Footnotes:
[1] Eicq is my package and work is currently underway to making it
100% elisp. When that is finished I'll put Eicq back into the
SUMOs.
