I maintain the XEmacs package for Tramp by having two working
directories, one for the "normal" Tramp package, and one for the
XEmacs package. In the "normal" working directory, I have a make
target "xemacs" which copies all *.el and *.texi files to the XEmacs
working directory. Whenever I think that there should be a new
release, I go to my normal working directory, do "make xemacs", then
submit the patch and stuff from the XEmacs working dir.
Issues:
* I have $Id$ tags in the files which leads to spurious differences
in all files, even if not changed, just because the CVS version
numbers in the two working dirs differ.
* Doing "make xemacs" might overwrite some changes that somebody made
to the XEmacs package tree.
Apparently, I'm doing something wrong. What could be improved?
