Yes, I believe there is something like that. But that's still not how
IMAP is indended to work. VM can fetch your emails, it can also leave
them on the IMAP server but I don't think, it can
* really work with emails on the IMAP server (in terms of the VM
attributes etc)
* create and use different folders on the IMAP server
* ...
