How is this file related to something like x-iso8859-1.el? Also, if
you want, recently Martin Buchholz added support for some Latin-2
keysyms; if you do it the same way, I think it would probably be
integrated into the next release of 21.2. Maybe even 21.1.14 or 15,
if you ask Vin Shelton very nicely ;-)

Yes, I have been complaining about this for years, but the Custom
wizards ignore it.
I didn't realize it would affect no-mule people though; this may be
patchable (the Mule problem requires handling lists of fonts, this is
one at a time). I'll take a look.
Would it be acceptable if once you start using koi8-r you can't switch
to ISO-8859 through the menus and Custom anymore, as a temporary
solution? (I don't know much about Custom programming; to force the
Lisp code to recognize the registry for X fonts and not change it
would be pretty easy, I suspect, but I don't know how easy it will be
to add facilities to select registries on the menu and in Custom.)
