Re: FSF assignment policy

AFAIS every Emacs-file is inspired by many, many others from the very beginning. We see almost always a plenty of revisions with a lot of people involved. Inspiration is irrelevant to copyright law. It is concerned with the authorship of the code. If a file has been in Emacs for many years, often many people have changed it. But typically when a file is first contributed, only a few people have worked on the code.
