Please post the error you get at startup. With regard to the Gnus
error,
could you tell us the value of the gnus-group-name-charset-group-alist
variable?
I don't understand it but the error I posted in my earlier mail is
gone, as for the gnus-group-name-charset-group-alist
`gnus-group-name-charset-group-alist' is a variable declared in Lisp.
