Dired does not reuse buffers

In XEmacs 21.4 (patch 3) "Academic Rigor" [Lucid] (i586-pc-win32) of Thu May 17 2001 on SHALOM configured using `configure UNKNOWN' Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: Everytime I attempt to run Dired on a directory, it creates a new buffer for that directory even if a previous Dired buffer for that directory exists. Try the keystrokes listed below to see what I mean. I will also send this to the efs-bugs list.
