This used to happen on UNIX, its to do with the fact that XEmacs needs to
process events in order for widget updates to be visible. If it thinks
there is an event but there isn't then you see this behavior while it
blocks waiting for an event.
Before I do that, tell me exactly what you want me to try. The
simplest test
would be for me to move all my windows to the first workspace (or dismiss
them), then exit sDesk, and try loading a file, or do you need me to
reboot and
kill sDesk before I start XEmacs?
I have no idea. But VWM's seem to have caused us problems in the past.
Exiting sdesk should be enough.
