It's an issue with maintainer stress, dealing with getting upstream
into XEmacs package repo with minimal problems.
Simple, easy build tools and patches for such welcome (send such to
ESS-help list or ESS-bugs list)

Hi,
I've noticed that the ess package (Emacs Speaks Statistics) is not listed
in the package download directory or the package-index. Is there a
specific reason for this? I've checked packages CVS and see that ess is
still included there, without any comments regarding retirement in the
ChangeLog. Also, the upstream project still seems to be active.
Kind regards,
Hans
