Dumping to C files seems to be unusable. Even while only dumping
strings, symbols and conses this generates a 4.5Mb+ C source file
which takes 15-30mn to compile into a 1.5+Mb object file. This on a
200Mhz R10000.
We're going to do a dump to a binary file and be able to relocate
pointers ourselves. After having looked at the problem it doesn't seem
that difficult actually. I also have some ideas which could make it
possible to have independant dump files for packages. But that fill be
done in a second step.
More information later.
