I noticed the same problem on one of my systems just yesterday. I'll have

BTW, --with-database=none,berkdb wins ... maybe. At least I'm writing
this in an XEmacs built that way. OK, I just checked the result of
database-tests.el, 10/10 success. We be jammin'!
The problem is that there's no way to tell from Installation or
config.h that I've got Berkeley db 4.5 linked in. I had to use ldd to
make sure. :-) If you could add some code to tell config.h and
Installation the Berkeley db version, I'd be real happy.
It would also be nice if we could get hold of that version from Lisp.
If you can't justify working on any of the above, feel free to push it
back at us, of course.
