I'd like to suggest taking over the relevant package, but I don't
think we can dodge responsibility for xemacs-devel. You could apply
for XEmacs Review Board. I wouldn't mind having another half-active
developer around. :-)
Ok, I guess I can do that. Maybe.
One issue: I think 21.4 doesn't support the defcustom stuff used in
eldoc.el. Does that mean that I would have to replace all of that with
some 21.4 compatible stuff? If so, my motivation level is drastically
reduced.:-( (I haven't used 21.4 since 21.5 was originally released oh
so many years ago.)
