There's about 0% chance that it will work. On the other hand, those
two functions are really not necessary.

And 3.9.5 will not use generic.el any more (it's just as easy to use
define-derived-mode).
Both 3.9.3 and 3.9.4 were supposed to work on XEmacs out of the box
and in both cases, I messed up like a beginner. I have to fix it
real soon.
Please, announce (in one of the xemacs list and at comp.lang.ml)
the new version as soon as it is ready.
