I've recently upograded from XEmacs_Setup_21.5-2008-01-24.exe to
XEmacs_Setup_21.5-2008-05-19.exe. jde-mode for editing Java files has
stopped working. After the initial failure to start jde-mode
automatically I can manually set java-mode and font-lock-mode as a
work around. This bug report is from a fresh start of XEmacs with -q.
This may be related to "[Bug: pkgs] prog-modes requires cedet-common,
which isn't there" reported on 2008-02-16.
Since the info below === I've installed the pre-release of
cedet-common.
(cedet-common ver: 1.01 upstream: 1.0pre4)
You should just install the cedet-common XEmacs package, which matches
the JDE XEmacs package. I'm puzzled about this problem: The
dependencies are all properly recorded in the JDE package. I'm wildly
guessing it's related to the Windows installer.
