Ar an t-ochtú lá is fiche de mí Deireadh Fómhair, scríobh Uwe Brauer:
I just prepared a small patch for the latin-pre pkg in leim/quail.
So that œ is included in the input method.
However there is one thing I don't understand and which looks
inconsistent to me.
For example french-pre is defined by
(quail-define-rules
("'E" ?É)
etc,
While latin-9-pre
Uses
(loop
for (string code)
in '(("'A" #x41)
etc.
Why this difference I would like to know before sending a patch.
Because non-Mule XEmacs, which can be and often is used to compile the file,
can’t handle ISO 8859-15 characters encoded in ISO-2022-8, while it can
handle ISO 8859-1 literals encoded in iso-2022-8.
I’m not going to be able to apply Uwe’s patch; it seems to me that it would
be a reasonable idea to give him write access to the Quail package.
