Bug with M-x gdb losing environment variables

I am working on Fedora 5, xemacs-21.5.27 ./configure --prefix=/sw/xemacs-21.5.27 --with-xft --with-xft=emacs,tabs,menubars,gauges --without-debug --without-error-checking --with-gtk When I use gdb from a shell within xemacs, and type show env LD_LIBRARY_PATH I get the right answer. If I run M-x gdb, and then do show env LD_LIBRARY_PATH, there is no value. When I run against xemacs 21.4.19, I get the right answer.
