Hi Malcolm,
use
M-x list-load-path-shadows
to find any.
Move away the offending packages you don't want to pick up.
Here are examples or potential problems:
c:\Program Files\XEmacs\site-packages\lisp\patcher hides c:\Program
Files\XEmacs\xemacs-packages\lisp\xemacs-devel\patcher
c:\Program Files\XEmacs\site-packages\lisp\gnuserv hides c:\Program
Files\XEmacs\XEmacs-21.4.6\lisp\gnuserv
2 Emacs Lisp load-path shadowings were found
I will just move patcher and gnuserv from
c:\Program Files\XEmacs\site-packages\lisp
to ~\el where they won't be found automatically.
