Hi all,
I've been experiencing a strange behaviour when I ediff two files and
have the ediff toolbar enabled as well as ediff-window-setup-function
set to ediff-setup-windows-plain, i.e. no separate ediff control panel,
but do all in one frame. When I quit ediff, the XEmacs frame's height
"shrinks" at the bottom.
This is reproducible (at least for me ...):
xemacs -vanilla
M-x font-lock-mode
M-: (setq ediff-window-setup-function (quote
ediff-setup-windows-plain))
M-: (setq ediff-use-toolbar-p t)
M-x ediff-files
It only occurs if at least one of the files is automatically fontified
because of its major mode. If e.g. both are plain text files with
fundamental-mode as major mode, everything is ok with ediff. Also fine
with font-lock-mode set to nil, of course.
If I load at least one of the autofontified files *before* calling
ediff, things look good. Dito if I first load both files and then call
ediff-buffers.
Version info: XEmacs 21.5.3 and 21.4.4 on Linux 2.4.7; ediff 1.31.
Any clues?
TIA,
Markus
