find the DevGuide you are referring to. Where is it. In the source
tree or on the web?
It's in the general-docs package.
A reflection: The "skip section 4.3.2"-text obviously
highlights our
problem with docs not being up to date. But at this point it might be
more practical to add new documents than try to make the old ones
correct. The web and the info pages would really need an update. I'd
say updating the info-pages is a higher priority than the web page.
I did think about submitting the general Mercurial information as a
patch against the DevGuide. I think it belongs someplace general, not
hidden away in the Gnus sources. But I've submitted documentation
patches in the past, and I've never seen any of them applied. So
putting all the information in a simple text file, one that I have write
access to, seemed like the best short-term approach.
Though, hmmm, I just realized that I have write access to xemacs-beta,
so I could push the internals documentation patch that I submitted
awhile back. And, oops, Bitbucket says I have write access to the
general-docs package, too.
Okay, my bad.
I'll move the general information from the Gnus README to the DevGuide.
best regards,
mike
