Motif is bad juju in my experience, but that was a galaxy long ago and
far away, and on Linux with Lesstif.
One thing to check for is that XIM on some platforms is sensitive to
having non-null status and preedit rectangles even if the input method
is set to not use them (search for initialization of s_area in
input-method-xlib.c to see context). SIGSEGV is typical of that.
Unfortunately Motif evidently does things differently, and the empty
function XIM_Setgeomtery or sojmething like that doesn't look good to
me.
