Dear Bug Team!
Further to my earlier report "International Character displayed as
octal"
I am now quite convinced that this is a bug in Xemacs for MS Windows.
I can't set a font with a Central European encoding, regardles of
whether I try set-face-font through the command line or whether I type
(set-face-font 'default "Courier New:Regular:10::Central European")
and evaluate the expression in the scratch buffer. Western extended
characters (with umlauts and accents) are displayed correctly, but the
following four characters, if you can see them: =9c =8c =9f =8f
are displayed as octal \234 \214 \237 and \217.
Hope that this information will be helpful in improving Xemacs for MS
Windows.
