Tramp invokes `read' in a buffer containing an sexp which in turn
might contain, as one item, a largish number. How do I make it so
that the resulting Lisp structure contains -1 instead of that largish
number?
Hm. Maybe I need to invoke kill-sexp at point, then insert -1, then
go back to the beginning and try again. Is this right?
