OK. After looking at your example for quite a while I saw how it was
design. In the "sync" entry it is explained that the following entries
up to a date is part of the sync.
It give the necessary information but can be hard to follow when new
entries are added. I mean, it is easy to miss the sync entry when you
skim through the file. Still it is the best suggestion so far. If I
don't get any other suggestion I'll go by your example when I send in
the modified patch. Then it is up to the reviewers again.
Yes, I had basically the same problem when coming up with a ChangeLog
entry. My solution follows the ChangeLog syntax, and it maintains the
author information, which is the only two things I believe I optimized
for. There may be other aspects to consider, though.
Since syncing packages from elisp will happen frequently, and
consistency of ChangeLog's (even between XEmacs packages) is good,
perhaps it would be worthwhile to write down the recommended approach,
whatever it may be.
