Please provide the URL.
That file should be created by cvs login, no?
I checked

Is the information at
http://www.xemacs.org/Develop/cvsaccess.html#tutorial
incorrect about .cvspass?
Quick Start Guide
First, you need to do, just once
<long cvs checkout line>
Just add a (you may have to touch ~/.cvspass if it does not exist).

Well, our usual response to "I had problems" is always:
- What happened.
- What you thought should have happened.
- Precisely what you were doing at the time.
But you know that, and you say you don't care :-)
Yup.:) Actually, it installed OK, but when I tried to install packages,
it just completely failed. It's now a very happy, fast and stable
Linux box as compared to a sad, slow, always crashing Microsoft
Windows XP box, so I'm not anxious to have it downgraded again
just to grab the text of the error message.
For everyone's information, I'm now writing an Emacs Lisp front
end to an internal bug tracking system for a Fortune 50 company
in San Jose. Most of the code has no relevance to the outside
world, but I will be passing on what I can (with approval). Since I
have to be portable to FSF Emacs 20.7 (and likely 19.34 in the
future), that won't be much.
With the recent MySQL announcement, are we finally all agreed
that the One True Free relational database is PostgreSQL? I
have some ideas for a generic forms package (based upon Per's
widgets), but I need a blessed database backend.
