termcap is the problem, not the databases. It seems like configure
adds termcap if it can't find tgetent in -lncurses or -lterminfo.
a termcap_compat package available (should not need one, but ...) it
might help as a workaround).
i installed libncurses5-dev, and now configure finds tgent, configure
terminates
without errors and xemacs is now building... why installing a
-dev-package helps
in finding a function in a library is over my head, but it worked...
