Not really my problem. It's *always* possible to do "C-x b INBOX RET
C-x h C-u C-x C-w utf-8 RET INBOX.save RET". I'll put that in the
FAQ, but I don't think I need to do more than that.
It matters much less than being a user who happens to get some
multilingual mail for once, and is then unable to save their mailfile!
I've personally lost literally megabytes of data to VM coding system
bugs. Stuff happens to testers and developers, I'm not complaining.
I do *not* want that to happen to users of a stable version. Ever.
