Sorry, for the premature mail, I digged around and
found some old code which does almost what I want:
What id don't now is how to indicate the buffer encoding
since mode-line-mule-info is a GNU emacs variable. What is
the corresponding one in Xemacs?
Sorry I should have read the doc more carefully!
It is
"%C" which will indicate the coding system.
