Whether I like it or not, most people don't agree with the goals of
the GNU Project. In a free country, they are entitled to form their
own views. But the GNU Project has to follow its own views, not other
people's.
A large part of our work consists of saying no when people who have
more mainstream views would expect us to say yes. We have to say, "If
you are going that way, you go without us, because that is not where
we are headed." We need to be strong enough to say this regardless of
how many people are going the other way.
