XEmacs after RPM

22 September 2005 Dear Mike, I downloaded the additional files from ftp.suse.com and put them into an appropriate directory. The content of this directory was then: Then I did as root the command rpm -Uhv xemacs-21.5.22-0.1.i586.rpm xemacs-el-21.5.22-0.1.i586.rpm xemacs-info-21.5.22-0.1.i586.rpm xemacs-packages-20050715-0.1.noarch.rpm xemacs-packages-el-20050715-0.1.noarch.rpm xemacs-packages-info-20050715-0.1.noarch.rpm This worked and my XEmacs installation was changed. After rebooting, I tried out the new version of XEmacs. The good news is that the primary selection is now copied to the kill ring as it should. Thus, I can now kill a marked region, and if I afterwards mark a region with the left mouse button, I can copy it via the middle mouse button somewhere else in the file. However, the bad news is that many other things do not work now. For example, when I give the command then XEmacs opens with a blank screen with the error message: In order to get the contents of the file into the visible buffer, I have to click on the File menue item and then on Open. I addition, XEmacs does not recognize my customization files, and if I try to customize XEmacs via the Options menue, I cannot save the changes being made in the Options menue. Instead, I get the error message: Now, What should I do?
