Problems running XEmacs 21.4.6

Hello. I have just compiled XEmacs 21.4.6 on my RedHat Linux 7.2 (with updates) computer. The Instalation file is attached. When I try to open a file using the menu (File -> Open), the open file dialog quickly disapears and the message Symbol's function definition is void: make-annotation is left in the message window. Trying to open a file with the keyboard (C-x C-f) also fails with the following message Symbol's value as varixable is void: file-p in the message window. But after some tries, the command works. Then it does not work anymore, with the message above. Any clues?
