Do you run anything else over ssh? How do they behave?
I know that Mac OS X Panther's ssh (3.6p1 or something like that)
regularly disappears into the ether, and sometimes it comes back.
It's not a line problem, it seems to have something to do with the X
forwarding.
I do not think my problem is XEmacs, as I can typically ssh from a
different terminal and gnuclient connect to XEmacs.
Try doing stuff like that and let us know.
