You do have PROBLEMS, and it is described there---twice. There are
two known Red Hat-induced crashes that produce that backtrace, the
"Hannibal Lecter ld" crash and the "Lesstif? OpenMotif? let's put both
in the same place with the same name, works for me on Tuesdays" crash.
If "ld --help | fgrep combreloc" produces no output, you have the
Hannibal Lecter ld with high probability (but may also have the Motif
library shadowing problem, too). If you get output from ld | fgrep,
then you should not have any problems with Hannibal, and I would
suspect the Motif library shadowing problem.

You built this recently, or it's an old build that is still running?
Hannibal was only in Rawhide when 21.4.6 was released, so probably
XEmacs would have built fine then, and the Motif library shadowing
problem was first identified about 6-8 weeks ago.
If you are going to build complex applications on Red Hat, it's a very
good idea to review their RPM spec files carefully.
