None of the four freedoms is "I have the freedom to get my own changes
pushed upstream without hassle, into a repository with poorly traced
authorship for which there is no generally authorized defender of its
licensing". It may be convenient, but that's not something concerned
with the four software freedoms.
Incidentally that's the reason I changed my focus from
GNU to X. So originally a pure political change, I'm
not unhappy now. And yes: XEm looks nicer... :)
It would probably be appropriate to refine your political reasononing
such that it makes sense.
